SME Event – Supplying the Public Sector

The West of England Partners in Procurement
Supplying the Public Sector Event

11 June 2013

The world of public sector commissioning and procurement is changing rapidly with priorities such as local economic development, localism and innovation all being combined with real cost saving.

If it is challenging for public sector bodies to keep up with all the changes, then we recognise that it can be confusing and time-consuming for our supplier base to understand the implications.

This year’s Supplying to the Public Sector event aims to shed light on how the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 will affect suppliers, how you can engage with the Government Procurement Service, as well as finding out more about the opportunities available and the principles of tendering.

In addition, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) have worked closely with the University of the West of England and public and private sector organisations to develop their CIPS Sustainability Index. The CSI team will be showcasing this innovative system, so come and see how this can benefit your organisation.

There will also be an opportunity to meet a wide range of business support organisations ranging from e-tendering portals, Bristol Pound to employment and skills information, and how to green your business.

If you are a local SME (less than 250 employees and turnover of less than £50M) and are interested in this event, please contact procurement.support@bristol.gov.uk for more details and an invitation
